Satellite Summit 2026
On behalf of our host, the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, and the Summit Agenda Planning Committee, Eppard Vision welcomes you to the 6th Annual Satellite Summit! Over the past 19 years, conversations at the annual Cultural Resource Protection Summit have matured, prompting us to launch a complementary event, the “Satellite Summit,” to support and expand these important discussions for the cultural resource community.
With the launch of the Satellite Summit, we continue to work hard to fulfill the mission we have had since the Summit’s inception in 2008: The primary goal in organizing the annual Summit has been to facilitate amongst all affected parties an open, frank discussion about the intersection between cultural resources and land use. The Summit is designed to promote collaborative cultural resource planning as an effective means of finding resolution to issues before they escalate into emotionally-charged, divisive, and expensive stalemates or lawsuits.
This year’s Satellite Summit agenda will include critical CRM topics explored through presentations, Cohort (small group) discussions, and open Q&A and discussion, all supporting the generation of ideas for collaboration. Meals and breaks will provide additional opportunities to work (or socialize) together. To facilitate greater participation across our community, we are pleased to offer another hybrid event with options for attending either in-person at the Muckleshoot Health & Wellness Center in Auburn, WA, or virtually on Zoom.
Please join us for a one-day workshop that will help you improve your technical skills while deepening your connection to why we do this work. Then, with renewed commitment, move forward with helpful tools for protecting cultural resources and sharing the important stories they tell in partnership with descendant communities.
